At first she couldn't stand it

My toddler lifted her right leg off the sidewalk, then her left leg.

"Oy!"

(Yiddish; definition - exclamation of woe, dismay, frustration, or exhaustion.)

To celebrate the end of New York's successful attempt at imitating Greenland, I had taken my stir-crazy toddler out for a run in the finally bearable weather.

As soon as I set her down on the sidewalk, she took off like a wind up toy let loose. Ahhhh - freedom!

But then she paused.

Looked down.

And noticed a strange, dark... thing attached to her leg.

She walked a little more, looking down. But she couldn't escape it.

Tried to lift her feet. When that didn't work (as you saw above), she just started running.

After a minute, she paused to check. Had she finally escaped?

Well, being that she'd entered a shaded area - that pesky thing was gone.

I expected a smile of relief.

But who can predict a toddler's reaction?

She looked up beseechingly at me. "Nuch?"

(Yiddish; definition - more.)

Seems her shadow charmed her enough that now she wants more of it - transformed from pesky, can't-get-rid-of-it sidekick to "alluring piece of the world shaped just like her."

But... what about your emails?

If they're like most DTC emails out there, they are a pesky - really pesky - shadow.

SALE. SALE. SALE. 20% OFF. LIMITED TIME. DON'T MISS OUT.

Following your subscribers around week after week until they're desperately scanning for the nearest shaded area (a.k.a the unsubscribe button.)

But what if your emails were so good they charmed your readers into saying "Nuch - more, please!"?

What if subscribers opened your emails not because of the latest huge discount you offered in a desperate attempt to force them to open, but because they know it will be an enjoyable read?

No ALL CAPS urgency is needed when your readers are trained to open and actually enjoy every email you send, even if they have no plans to buy anything.

But the road to readers thinking "Send me more!" doesn't happen by accident.

It starts the moment someone joins your list, before they've bought anything, before they trust you, before they even know if they like you.

It starts with your welcome sequence.

And most brands either don't have one, or have one that sounds like every other "thanks for signing up, here's 10% off" snooze-fest.

But not in Chavy's world.

I'll write a welcome sequence for your brand that does what my emails do for me. In straightforward, on-brand language, the sequence/flow I create will entertain, educate, build trust, and train your readers to actually look forward to hearing from you.

So instead of fighting for attention in an inbox full of SALE SALE SALE...

You become the charmer in their inbox.
