It kept suddenly freezing, shutting down, and restarting. Repeatedly. My trusty old laptop was doing its own merry thing.
Despite having survived lots of wear and tear - aka, tough love from some sweet children who frequent my home office on a regular basis - it seemed my luck was up and I’d need a new laptop.
But before taking any steps, I consulted with the resident IT expert (my husband). Turns out - my laptop was just out of memory!
It was so overloaded with years of accumulated junk that it couldn’t handle the pressure. So it took unannounced breaks every half hour.
I did some brain surgery and excised hundreds of megabytes of unnecessary data from my laptop’s memory. And peace reigned once again in my little home office.
My laptop had proven its resilience.
If your marketing efforts keep suddenly freezing or sloooowing down… it might be a case of accumulated marketing junk.
What’s marketing junk?
It’s the hundred different tactics you try each quarter…. the tone of voice that changes from ad to ad….the discounts and sales and promos you pop into your emails every day…
Those fragmented, disconnected ways of putting your products out there are dragging down your brand. If every time they see you, potential customers hear a different voice telling them a new story - they just forget about you. It’s too overwhelming for the brain to process.
People have busy lives. Their brains will ignore unnecessary info that takes too much effort to retain.
And so your marketing efforts will head into oblivion, along with the money you spent.
If your brand is cluttered with marketing junk, it's time to call in the brand surgeon. Let's remove the trash and get the sales flowing.
If you wanna clean up, hit reply.
