Meet the newest residents of ItsYomTov.com - the Chagim family! (Chagim is the Hebrew word for holidays.)
For this, I had to develop not one, but FOUR distinct voices.
Abba - The adventure enthusiast who turns every holiday ritual into an experience. When Abba the Seder, even the most cynical teenager gets pulled into the action.
Ima - Creative, slightly scatterbrained, but somehow pulls everything together beautifully with lots of new ideas (after lots of rushing!).
Mordy (12) - The know-it-all inventor who's constantly experimenting. His "Seder Pillow Securing Method" might look like two cheap pillowcases stapled together, but he's been testing it for weeks.
Mindy (9) - Spunky and full of questions. She's the one who challenges Abba's dramatization with "But why didn't the Egyptians just move somewhere else if there were frogs everywhere?"
Why a family? Because that's what these holidays are all about.
It's true that this site is meant to be a one-stop-shop for everything holiday related. But holidays are about a lot more than shopping lists and to-do tasks.
They're about creating moments that stay with your kids forever.
When you visit the new site, you're not just browsing products.
The shopping is still there – everything you need, all in one place. But it's wrapped in stories, ideas, and yes, a healthy dose of humor (because if you can't laugh when you find chametz in the fridge two hours before Pesach, when can you?).
The Chagim family highlights the fact that preparing for a holiday isn't just about checking tasks off a list. It's about building memories that your kids will someday recreate with their own families.
Think about your own experience with holidays. Wasn't it the people you celebrated with – their unique voices, stories, and quirks – that made the traditions stick? The grandfather who always hid the afikomen in the same spot. The uncle who sang the songs slightly off-key but with tremendous hearts.
This rebrand wasn't about refreshing colors or updating fonts. It was about bringing the warmth of holidays to a digital space. About making a place where people smile and laugh and discover new ways to make memories.
Would love to hear what you think of our new "residents"!
And if you're looking to add a unique twist to YOUR brand - one that's about much more than just a product - let's talk.
Making holidays memorable (with a little help from my imaginary friends),
