Sounds true but makes no sense

They say a miss is as good as a mile.

Uh uh uh. That is one pithy saying that completely misses the mark.

Let's say someone was millimeters from getting hit by a speeding truck. That was NOT as good as a mile. Such a close call has a powerful impact on the psyche.

The person might now be jittery and jumpy. Or they'll suffer physical symptoms of shock. Or maybe they'll begin looking five times before crossing the street.

Same if a bullet missed them by a hairsbreadth.

This is also true in sales and marketing. Even if your ad or email or sales pitch didn’t get someone to buy, it still had an impact.

That person is now more aware of your offer, and the knowledge will sit in their subconscious, waiting to be activated by the next ad.

Marketing is cumulative. You can never know which ad, email or website visit will convert someone. So even if you feel like your most recent marketing effort was a miss - it wasn’t as good as a mile. That effort had an impact, and you can continue to build on it.

What WILL make that cumulative effect even more powerful, though, is a consistent and distinctive brand voice. If you sound like the same unique character each time they come across you, your chance of turning that miss into a hit is that much higher.

This is what my Tell Your Story package does for you. It creates a vibrant and recognizable voice that you can easily apply to all your marketing materials. And then watch and see more and more of your marketing "arrows" hitting the target.
